Our 90 second video showcases Westchester Wilderness Walk, one of our most beautiful preserves and a flagship for our mission to connect more people to the land.
Please watch it and consider our challenge: To meet our goal of protecting 10,000 acres by 2012, we'd like to raise $10 for every family in Westchester County. Click here to donate!
Why $10 per family? Because we want to spread the word as broadly as possible that there are great places to hike, and that we are truly a county-wide organization working to protect the environment so our communities remain healthy and beautiful places to live and work.
At any given time we have perhaps 35 land preservation projects in the works. We've helped protect land in 26 communities, including North Castle, New Rochelle, Yonkers, Yorktown, Pound Ridge, Tarrytown, Greenburgh and Bedford.
Your $10 donation will help pay for the ecological and legal expertise we need to work with local residents to create more parks, preserves, and hiking trails, and to work with private landowners to protect land through conservation easements.
So watch our video, donate $10 and then pass it along to a friend.
Thank you for helping us to keep Westchester green!
(And thanks to WLT Board Member Peter Menzies, of Leontine Pictures, for producing the video!)
