Eighteen farmers and 22 chefs and restaurateurs participated in the county’s first ever Local Farm/Local Chef “speed meeting” at Muscoot Farm on Monday, April 19 – making connections and deals, all in hopes of finding steady markets for local farmers and steady supplies of good, sustainable food for local eateries.
The event was organized by Westchester Land Trust, Slow Food Westchester and Mypersonalfarmers.com; the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation graciously opened its Muscoot Farm activity room for the event.
We are particularly grateful to Mary Ann Petrilena, of Waccabuc, who volunteered her extraordinary skills to help organize the event and invite the farmers and chefs.
