Cortlandt Land Trust: Dedicated to preserving Cortlandt's natural resources, scenic beauty and country character.
The Cortlandt Land Trust was organized in 2005 to promote the protection of our environmentally important open spaces and the resources they harbor. The Cortlandt Land Trust works with Westchester Land Trust to protect land through conservation easements, to identify land for acquisition, and to foster sound land use planning.
For more information, contact Eileen Hochberg, Westchester Land Trust's director of conservation outreach: Eileen@Westchesterlandtrust.org or 914 241-6346 x12; or Lisa Moir, chair of the Cortlandt Land Trust, ljmsw@optimum.net or 914 271-1035.
Protecting Cortlandt's Lands
Westchester Land Trust has eight conservation easements and five preserves in Cortlandt; we helped the state, the county and the Watershed Agricultural Council protect Hemlock Hill Farm; and we helped the state expand Hudson Highlands State Park. In all, we've protected 1041 acres in Cortlandt.
