| The Angell easement in Cortlandt protects 40 acres. |
The Cortlandt Land Trust was organized in 2005 to promote the protection of our environmentally important open spaces and the resources they harbor. The Cortlandt Land Trust works with Westchester Land Trust to protect land through conservation easements, to identify land for acquisition, and to foster sound land use planning.
For more information, contact Eileen Hochberg, Westchester Land Trust's director of conservation outreach: Eileen@Westchesterlandtrust.org or 914 241-6346 x12; or Lisa Moir, chair of the Cortlandt Land Trust, LJMSW@aol.com or 914 271-1035.
Protecting Cortlandt's Lands
Westchester Land Trust has six conservation easements and three preserves in Cortlandt, and we helped the state, the county and the Watershed Agricultural Council protect Hemlock Hill Farm. In all, we've protected 244 acres in Cortlandt.
