Wilderness Walk Quest

The Buchman family of Cross River -- Mom Lisa, Dad Jonathan, and children Amanda and Max -- were the first finishers of the Quest at the opening on Sunday, November 29.

The Westchester Wilderness Walk Quest focuses on the natural history and human history of this terrific preserve.

Questing is a sort of combination treasure hunt-education game that lets you learn while wandering through the woods. It's great fun for families, including kids aged four and up.

Our Quests are always free and open to the public. For the Wilderness Walk Quest, park at the preserve parking area on Upper Shad Road, about a quarter of a mile from Long Ridge Road.
