Landowners in North Salem are helping protect the breeding grounds of our area's last remaining bobolinks.
This story, in today's Journal News, expalins what's happening and also quote Peter Kamenstein, a North Salem landowner and a member of Westchester Land Trust's board of directors, who talks about the balancing act between haying his fields and protecting the birds.
One aside: It's a sad day when a newspaper feels it has to tell readers that Emily Dickinson was "a 19th century American poet."
