The easement area
protects moderately mature second growth deciduous forest and an open
field. There are some steep slopes and rocky areas. The forest is
dominated by Sugar maple (Acer saccharum) with Tulip (Liriodendron
tulipifera), White ash (Fraxinus Americana), and Black birch (Betula
lenta). A rocky ledge at the rear of the property is dominated by
more well-drained soil species such as White oak (Quercus alba), Black
oak (Quercus velutina), and White pine (Pinus strobus). The
open field has several white pines and the field is dominated by grasses and
Milkweeds (Asclepias spp.).
